Customer Review: Great DVD!
I bought this DVD as a gift for my Step dad and he absolutely loved it!
Customer Review: U.K. buyers - this DVD plays on Region 2 machines!!!
Crisp picture and sound quality, this 81 minute DVD plays on region 2 machines with no problems whatsoever! "When Comedy Was King" features all the heavyweight comedians from the early 1920's and it is worth the money just for the Charley Chase, Edgar Kennedy, Snub Pollard and Laurel & Hardy sequences alone, ones that serve to illustrate comedy improvisation at its very best. And whilst this 1959 movie is made up of clips entirely from silent era films, narrator Dwight Weist and music by Ted Royal provide additional dimensions to enjoy the onscreen fun. A very nice Robert Youngson compilation which no doubt will be deleted sooner rather than later, so grab it while you can from Amazon.com!
