The 39 Steps

The 39 Steps
A classic Hitchcock film with his trademark "wrong man" plot.
Customer Review: Spy Chase in Britain
Based on a novel of the same name by John Buchan, The 39 Steps has Robert Donat pursued for a murder he didn't commit. Donat, who plays mining engineer Robert Hannay, finds himself unwillingly drawn into a chase across the Scottish moors in search of a man who he believes can clear him. Meantime, he narrowly escapes death and capture. Madeleine Carroll, a beautiful blonde, plays the romantic interest here. She almost gets Hannay killed, but in the end proves a valuable partner.
