Horror Classics 4 Movie Pack Vol. 3

Horror Classics 4 Movie Pack Vol. 3
Customer Review: Auntie Pasto and won tons
A miscast Boris Karloff highlights Volume 3 of HORROR CLASSICS 4 MOVIE PACK. "Fatal Hour" is one of a series of five short movies in which Karloff stiffly portrays an Oriental detective (James Lee Wong), doing so in his normal British accent. In this mystery story, Mr. Wong uncovers a smuggling ring and a murderer. George Zucco, a British/American character actor, appears in two of the other films here. In "Dead Men..." he plays twins-- both are doctors. One is a Satan-worshipper who is killed by the other. The dead twin returns from the grave to seek revenge. "Mad Monster," has Zucco as a crazed scientist who changes men into ghastly beasts with blood transfusions. For the final selection, the 1950s fad of macro-photography transforms an ordinary lizard into a gargantuan thing that threatens a small Texas town. Often, the highlight of such stinkbombs were their advertisng slogans. "Giant Gila..." is no exception: "ONLY HELL COULD BREED SUCH AN ENORMOUS BEAST. ONLY GOD COULD DESTROY IT!" (Yah... God and a teenaged boy, that is...) To get a larger dose of old-timey monsters, try FRIGHT NIGHT. With this 10 pack, there's ghosts, haunted houses and castles, man/beasts and phantoms of all kinds! . Parenthetical numbers preceding film titles are from viewer polling data maintained at a film resource website. (4.6) Dead Men Walk (1943) - George Zucco/Mary Carlisle (5.2) The Fatal Hour (1940) - Boris Karloff/Marjorie Reynolds/Jason Robards Sr. (minor role) (2.9) The Giant Gila Monster (1959) - Don Sullivan/Fred Graham (2.7) The Mad Monster (1942) - Johnny Downs/George Zucco/Anne Nagel/Glenn Strange
