Customer Review: Animated Happy Prince and Selfish Giant
I had been looking for these animated Oscar Wilde tales for some time but could not find them except for lots of money through private buyers. These are the original Reader's Digest versions of the classic moralistic tales The Happy Prince and the Selfish Giant narrated by Christopher Plummer, and this video also includes an animated version of The Little Mermaid as a bonus. If you are not interested in getting the original releases of these tales on separate videos then this compilation is ideal and exceptionally good value. (Note: This release is in NTSC format and I have been unable to locate a new PAL version, but most modern European VCRs have NTSC playback.)
